Teresa Earnhardt is the widow of the late NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt, who was a seven-time Winston Cup champion. She was born on October 29, 1958, in Hickory, North Carolina.
Teresa and Dale were married in 1982 and had one daughter together, Taylor Nicole Earnhardt. After Dale's tragic death in a crash during the 2001 Daytona 500, Teresa became the owner and CEO of Dale Earnhardt, Inc., a NASCAR racing team founded by Dale.
Under Teresa's leadership, Dale Earnhardt, Inc. experienced both success and controversy. The team won the Daytona 500 in 2004 with driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., but also faced financial difficulties and struggled to maintain competitive performance in the following years.
In 2007, Teresa merged Dale Earnhardt, Inc. with Chip Ganassi Racing, forming a new team called Earnhardt Ganassi Racing. However, she later sold her share of the team to Chip Ganassi in 2014.
Teresa Earnhardt is known for being fiercely protective of her late husband's legacy and has been involved in legal battles over the use of the Earnhardt name and trademark rights. She has largely maintained a private life since selling her stake in the racing team and continues to be involved in philanthropic efforts and charitable activities.
